About CBM3

Shipping is complex. The calculations shouldn’t be.

CBM3 is a free online logistics platform that helps you calculate cargo volume, estimate volumetric weight, compare container options, and visualize loading plans in 3D.

We bring essential shipment-planning tools into one straightforward workspace, so you can spend less time working through calculations and more time making informed decisions.

Whether you’re preparing a single carton or planning a full-container shipment, our purpose is the same: make the numbers easier to understand and the next step easier to plan.

Built from real-world logistics experience

CBM3 was founded by Fatih Duyar, drawing on practical experience in international trade, importing, and shipment coordination.

The idea grew out of a familiar challenge: everyday logistics questions often take more work to answer than they should.

How much space will this shipment occupy? Which container makes sense for the load? Will the cartons fit in practice—not just on paper? How can a loading plan be explained clearly to a supplier or logistics partner?

Answering these questions can mean moving between spreadsheets, calculators, container specifications, and separate planning tools. When quantities or dimensions change, much of that work has to be repeated.

CBM3 was created to bring those tasks together.

What began with a practical need has developed into a broader product vision: accessible logistics tools that connect calculations with a clearer understanding of the shipment itself.

Our starting point is always the real-world problem. Technology is how we make it easier to solve.

From cargo dimensions to a clearer loading plan

A useful logistics tool should do more than return a number. It should help you understand what that number means for your shipment.

CBM3 brings together complementary tools to support that process.

Cargo volume and CBM calculations

Calculate the cubic volume of cartons, pallets, and packaged goods using their dimensions and quantities. Work with multiple cargo items and bring them together into a total shipment volume.

With support for different measurement units, CBM3 helps you work with the information you receive without repeatedly switching between separate conversion tools.

Container capacity and loading estimates

Explore how your cargo may fit within commonly used container types, including 20-foot and 40-foot standard containers, 40-foot high-cube containers, and 45-foot high-cube containers.

Compare options, review estimated space utilization, and develop a more informed starting point for your loading plan.

3D container loading

Total volume tells you how much space your cargo occupies. It does not, by itself, show how that cargo will fit.

Carton dimensions and orientation can change the way a load uses the available space. CBM3’s 3D loading tools help you visualize potential arrangements and examine the relationship between individual cargo items and the container around them.

The result is a more useful planning view than a volume figure alone. Loading simulations support your assessment; final arrangements still need to account for actual cargo characteristics, weight limits, stacking restrictions, and handling requirements.

Volumetric weight and unit conversions

Estimate volumetric weight and convert between commonly used units of length, volume, and weight.

These tools help you prepare and compare shipment information when working across different measurement systems. For freight quotations, calculations should be checked against the relevant carrier’s rules and conversion factors.

Projects and PDF reports

Keep related calculations organized and present results in a format that is easier to review.

Project tools and PDF reporting help turn individual calculations into information you can revisit and discuss with colleagues, suppliers, customers, and logistics partners.

Useful tools. Less friction.

We believe practical software should make a task easier—not create another task to manage.

That principle shapes how we build CBM3. We focus on clear inputs, understandable results, and a workflow that keeps the essential information close at hand.

Simplicity does not mean ignoring the details. It means presenting those details in a way that helps you work with them.

A first-time user should be able to approach a basic calculation with confidence. A logistics professional should be able to use the same platform as a practical part of their daily workflow.

The goal is not to add as many features as possible. It is to make the right features genuinely useful.

Free by design

Access to practical logistics tools should not depend on the size of your business.

CBM3 is free to use, making its tools accessible to independent traders, growing businesses, established logistics teams, and students learning how international shipping works.

You may need to calculate a shipment occasionally or work with cargo dimensions every day. Either way, the need is real—and the tools should be within reach.

Free access is part of CBM3’s product philosophy: remove unnecessary barriers and help more people approach shipment planning with better information.

Global by design

International trade connects people who work in different languages, use different measurement systems, and operate across different markets.

CBM3 is built with that reality in mind.

Through multilingual support, unit conversions, and browser-based access, we aim to make everyday logistics calculations easier to work with across borders.

Our audience includes importers and exporters, freight forwarders, manufacturers, e-commerce businesses, purchasing teams, warehouse operators, and supply chain professionals.

But you do not need a particular job title to use CBM3.

You just need something to ship—and a clearer understanding of the space it will take.

Shaped by the people who use it

CBM3 is an evolving product, guided by practical needs rather than complexity for its own sake.

User feedback helps us understand where a calculation is difficult to follow, where a loading visualization could be clearer, and where a small improvement could save repeated work.

Our development priorities center on making the core experience more useful: clearer calculations, better loading visualizations, practical reporting, broader accessibility, and smoother workflows.

Before adding something new, we return to one question:

Will this make a real task easier for the person using it?

That question keeps the product focused on the work it is meant to support.

Our mission

To make everyday logistics calculations simple, accessible, and useful—wherever trade happens.

Our long-term vision is for CBM3 to become a dependable starting point for cargo calculations and container-loading planning around the world.

Not by replacing the experience of the people managing a shipment, but by giving them tools that make the information easier to calculate, visualize, and communicate.

From the first set of dimensions to a more considered loading plan, we want CBM3 to help people move forward with greater clarity.
